Understanding Toji Fushiguro – The Monkey who Killed a God
Toji vs. Hanami: A Battle of Strength
Hanami, known for his plant-based attacks, is around the same level of strength as Dagon, maybe a little higher. However, Hanami’s cursed buds wouldn’t work on Toji, making it unlikely that Hanami could defeat him. Toji’s physical prowess and combat skills give him a significant edge.
Toji vs. Jogo: Fire Meets Superhuman Strength
Jogo, with his fiery abilities, would be a tougher opponent for Toji. While Toji’s body is superhuman, it could still be burned if Jogo’s flames are intense enough. However, considering Toji’s ability to withstand a Reversal Red from Gojo at point-blank range without breaking any bones, it’s likely that Toji could last long enough to eventually defeat Jogo.
Toji vs. Mahito: The Ultimate Test
Finally, we have Mahito, whose Idol Transfiguration technique wouldn’t work on Toji, similar to how it doesn’t affect Yuji. Toji’s unique build and resilience make him a formidable opponent for Mahito. This battle might not be as close as some might think, with Toji having a clear advantage.
The Anomaly of Jujutsu Kaisen: Toji Fushiguro
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, where possessing Cursed Techniques separates the strong from the weak, Toji Fushiguro — once known as Toji Zenin — was an anomaly.
Ostracized by the Zenin clan for his lack of Cursed Energy, Toji honed his skills in unconventional ways, attaining power far beyond most characters in the series.
The Sorcerer Killer: Toji’s Reputation
As he abandoned his heritage and took on another name, Toji resolved to punish the world of Jujutsu Sorcerers by any means necessary. He earned a reputation as a skilled assassin dubbed the “Sorcerer Killer” due to his efficiency in taking out incredibly powerful Jujutsu Sorcerers with relative ease. His inhuman physical prowess and battle intelligence, combined with the knowledge he gained as a former member of the Zenin clan, made him a formidable opponent.
The Gifts of Heavenly Restriction
Born with a Heavenly Restriction, Toji had innately incredible speed and strength. This restriction, which eradicated any capacity to use jujutsu, granted him inhuman abilities.
Toji’s lack of Cursed Energy allowed him to easily slip through barriers meant to restrict normal Jujutsu Sorcerers, Curse Users, or Cursed Spirits. He could even avoid being tracked by opponents, including Satoru Gojo, a user of the Six Eyes.
A Master of Cursed Tools
Able to interact with Cursed Spirits despite his lack of Cursed Energy, Toji relied on Cursed Tools and conventional weaponry in combat. He used a variety of bladed weapons and even a handgun during the Star Plasma Vessel Escort Mission. These weapons were stored within his Inventory Curse, which he could compress and swallow to avoid detection. Toji’s strategic use of these tools allowed him to counter powerful Cursed Techniques, such as the Gojo clan’s Limitless.
Beyond Special Grade: Toji’s True Strength
It’s quite ironic that Toji, who was cast out by the Zenin clan for his lack of Cursed Energy, ended up becoming far more powerful than its highest-ranking members. His solo defeat of Dagon demonstrated that his strength surpassed that of a Special Grade.
Toji’s sharp intellect, calm demeanor, and strategic planning enabled him to overcome even more formidable opponents, as showcased in the Hidden Inventory Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
